Price Land Development Group Welcomes New Director of Construction

Experienced construction executive Desi Gallegos joins New Mexico land developer’s growing construction division working to address the state’s housing shortage

(Albuquerque, NM.)—March 05, 2024 – Albuquerque-based Price Land Development Group (Price) is pleased to announce the addition of Desi Gallegos as the company’s Director of Construction. Gallegos brings more than 20 years of construction management experience to this newly created position at Price, including senior project management experience of multi-million-dollar projects for globally recognized clients.

“Desi’s extensive experience in large-scale, complex construction projects is exactly what we need in spearheading ambitious developments we have in the pipeline. He has seen our company grow and understands the mission and standards of our team, clients and partners.” said Price Land Development Group founder and Albuquerque native Garret Price. “Additionally, he recognizes the caliber we and our partners build to as we collaborate to create houses and communities every New Mexican can be proud to call home.”

Most recently Gallegos served as Senior Project Manager for an Oregon based Consulting Group. Prior to that he was in Utah managing projects in the High-Tech industry. Before his work in Utah, he managed mission critical builds in Arizona, Virginia, Nevada, Oregon and Washington; projects ranging from semi-conductors to data centers for the leading names in the industry.

Gallegos’ new role brings him back to his hometown of Albuquerque after nearly two decades in the business. “I couldn’t be happier to be back home,” said Gallegos. “It feels like I’ve been gone for way too long and I’m ready to apply my wide range of construction management experience in enhancing and building up my home state.”

In his new role, Gallegos will work alongside Price’s Vice President of Construction Brian Anderson on the firm’s newest division – Price Construction Services – which allows them to drive new business through the ability to fee develop. This expansion enables Price to deliver even more residential lots to the market at a time when they are sorely needed, as well as allowing them to partner on a wider variety of projects. Gallegos and Anderson, both licensed general contractors with the state of New Mexico, will grow the Price Construction Services side of the business while solidifying Price Land Development Group as the preferred residential developer in the market.

“Desi is a talented, motivated individual with the track record to manage and trouble-shoot complex construction projects,” shared Anderson. “His experience working with diverse individuals across the nation and on such a wide range of high-profile projects – many with incredibly tight timelines – makes us confident he’ll successfully apply his analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills here at Price.”

The Price team continues to do their part to address the ongoing housing crisis in New Mexico by preparing 2,000 additional residential lots across the market over the next five years. The deeply rooted New Mexico company is providing options for a diverse group of homebuyers, from entry-level and build-to-rent, to move-up communities in and around Albuquerque and Santa Fe as it expands its services and partnerships.

Throughout 2024, Gallegos, Anderson and the rest of the Price team will be working on a variety of projects in Santa Fe and Albuquerque including:

    • 344 townhomes and single-family detached homes at Bedrock, a new build-to-rent community in Albuquerque. Price and development partner LaTerra will deliver the much-needed homes as part of the state’s largest qualified opportunity zone residential project. The highly-amenitized community is anticipated to feature co-working areas, pet-friendly parks, BBQ, resort-style pools, fitness centers and spas as well as a clubhouse.
    • 200 residential lots at Aspire in southwest Albuquerque. In January Price started developing 83 residential lots for D.R. Horton as part of Aspire’s Phase 3. Aspire’s remaining 117 Phase 4 lots are anticipated to be complete in early 2025. Both phases are two years ahead of original underwriting assumptions. Upon completion of Phase 4 Price will have sold and delivered 506 entry-level lots to D.R. Horton within the Aspire community.

“The addition of Desi and creation of this new role within our team is a reflection of the tremendous demand we see for residential construction services as New Mexico municipalities, developers, investors and builders come together to create housing solutions,” explained Garret Price. “While our state is currently experiencing one of the largest housing shortages in the nation, it is talented, invested professionals like Desi, Brian and the rest of our team that will help us seek and find the right answers.”

Since May 2017, Price has contributed significantly to healthy economic growth in the area while preserving the unmatched beauty of New Mexico. Additionally, in its six-year history, Price has developed 70 acres of parks, trails and open space in the communities of Colibri, Seasons at Monarch, Aspire, Trails, Los Diamantes, Jemez Vista, Bedrock and High Range. These communities feature desirable amenities including neighborhood parks, picnic ramadas, basketball courts and dog parks.
